Elger Bay Beach Walk Instructions: Yellow = walking options to get to beach, walk only - do not stop or gather in yellow Red = do not walk here at all Green = beach area where sitting, collecting treasures, having a picnic, etc is allowed - more details below the map
To get to the beach you may walk or drive.
It is VERY important that you follow these directions precisely. All of the property down at the beach is PRIVATE PROPERTY and those owners are not friendly to trespassers. You will need to go through the correct private areas to avoid problems.
Go down Wagner Rd. Follow that until the intersection with Gough Dr. Turn left on Gough Dr. Park along the side of the road at the bottom of the hill, NOT in the a small parking area.
Option #1 - This gate is right there in the intersection – NOT over at the white gazebo. The sign next to the gate says – Camano Shores Access Point – 10’ wide walking only. You may walk through the gate, across the park and down the ramp to get to the water’s edge. We have an easement to walk through the park, but not privileges to use the park, firepit or picnic area.
Once you get to the beach / water, please turn left and walk south only. Please do not stop or gather treasures until after you pass ALL OF the houses. Once you are beyond the houses, you may sit, pick up driftwood / shells, etc. Feel free to stroll south as far as you’d like, but watch out for high tide – that makes for a challenging return.
Option #2 - We also have the rights to the walking path/road behind that strip of houses. See pic below. If the tide is high, that’s a better route. The path goes all the way to the end of the houses into the green area on the map above.
